Do you mean display the titles while the video sequence is running?

Hey there cothyso,

I downloaded the RAD tools (bink player) and checked out, seams to be no way of sreen info's in bink, but the rad tools shows frame rate/stats etc, but thats obviously not "in-game" (but is o.k for testing purposes?)

You could start an experiment on what the search button is good for.

I remember someone else saying a similar thing to me.

I was not aware that there was ever dialogues that could appear in video sequences as there is NO dialogues!

Whenever i use marvin in G2 and the "play video" command followed by one of the following,

CREDITS
CREDITS2
CREDITS_EXTRO
DRAGONATTACK
EXTRO_ALLESWIRDGUT
EXTRO_DJG
EXTRO_KDF
EXTRO_PAL
EXTRO_XARDAS
FISHFOOD
INTRO
LOGO1
LOGO2
LOVESCENE
ORCATTACK

It just plays in a "raw" video manner. with any musical inclusion of course.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed in the forum. Sure, the in-game subtitles can be activated by modifying the .ini files, but I'm not sure about the out-game (e.g. movie) subtitles. For those who claim there are several threads about this, a search with keywords "Gothic AND subtitle*" and "movie* AND subtitle*" was done with no satisfying results. Any suggestions and pointers for other keywords?

Also, I have a feeling that subtitles cannot be displayed in the Bink player provided in the game. The movie text in the data files was there probably for debugging reasons or for completion. Not sure here, so don't take my words until I can google more evidence for this. The google keywords "bink subtitle" may provide a good starting point.

P.S. Sorry for not helping much. If all else fails, searching through the German forums and e-mailing Gothic gurus and developers may be the best bet. I'll do the former once I get back home, and I'll PM you if I find anything useful.

I'm sure there is a way to activate them. And those subtitles won't be displayed in the bink movie, but underneath it, I assume. Gothic 2 doesn't play movies in full screen, but in a large middle ecran band (that is the area in which the bink movie is played), leaving 2 empty black bands, above and underneath, in which I'm sure their engine can display the movie subtitles.

There must be a way to display them. I already made a sort of "hack", making Xardas say all the addon intro movie phrases once again after the movie is played (like when he's talking with you), this was the only way i caould display those subtitles atm. But there must be a way to activate them for the movies.
