Spells, How to use them???

I'm a 7th level rogue and 4the level Ranger and have some spell scrolls but have no idea how to use them. My handbook says I have to 'preparre the spells before casting them" I've tried selecting the spellcasting class in the spellbook screen but nothing is shown there.
I also have the ingredients for spells from a few places I've visted but don't know how to combine them or where.
Don't ya love a challenge?

You're not a mage, sorcerer, cleric or druid. You don't get spells right off the bat with a ranger. You need to have more levels in the ranger class before you can start a lot of casting (6 levels in ranger to gain spells if you don't have Wisdom bonuses). As for rogue, you need to put points into the Use Magic Item ability to cast spells and that's only using spell scrolls or wands if your skill is sufficient enough.
