oh, i forgot something...
to use the development kit you must have download the player kit too.
theres "goticmod.exe" and the "GoticStarter.exe" in it.
if you want to use mods, you should always use the goticstarter.exe. (to start the original game too)

i think the kit will work with the english version.
for english tutorials ask the piranha bytes,
or try to translate the german tut by using a translator-program
(i heard the new opera-browser has an integratet translation funktion - for free!!!)

best regards

I talk with someone from PB from time to time about the game and I asked him if there would be an English release of the MOD kits…He said no.

If thats true about a US editor release then that is Bull SHAT! From what I understand the European release of Gothic cost the people there about $20 US dollars. (In their currency). Why do we North Americans have to pay $50 and we dont get the benefit of an ediotr. Hell. the least Piranna could do is say thanks for paying us that ammount. Here is a little gift and then release the editor for us in English!

20$ for a *NEW* Pc Game in Germany....Yeah would be great.

But in reality it is as expensive as in the USA (about 45,- €)

i'm not sure, but it should work.
the sripts, who comes with the dev-kit, you should replace, by using the tool nicoVDFS.
this tool extract data from your vdfs-volumes.(otherwise you will use the german scriptversions)

I'm a little pissed about the Mod kit not being released in English also…I have a few ideas for some Mods but I am not going the slog through a German Mod Dev kit. I really think they have to come out with an English Mod kit. Mods keep the game alive.

Why not directly write to Piranha Bytes, and tell'em what you want?!
