| War Drummer? Can he be killed? |

Well, I finally left Aleroth and in on my way to get an escort for the healers, so they can leave Alerorth and save the world. I have ran into a War Drummer (Don't remember if this is his exact name), he beats some drums and has a large triangular red banner. Anyway, I have him pinned against some trees and I have pounded on him for three minutes straight and he keeps healing himself. I stopped him just to see what would happen and he immediately killed me. What do you do with this guy? I am assuming he is a bad guy. |

War Drummers are one of the most annoying creatures in the game. You can lead that over to the knight and he'll help you kill it. Otherwise, avoid wardrummers until you get to a higher level and can damage them enough to kill them before they heal themselves.

They suck.
All Orcs are susceptible to...
*Spoiler below*
Poison Weapon skill knocks them flat in seconds. You'll need to collect poison or develop Alchemy to make poison. |

You will find plenty more of these as you progress. I found using conventional weapons useless although I dont think I had my Sword of Chaos at the time. They seem to regenrate as well...bad news
Best way is to max out in meteor strike...this takes them out no problemo.
I found meteor strike to be the best offensive magic skill so far...havent found anything that can stand up to it and I am level 31 at the moment.

I used freeze and poison arrow, worked really well! (Just in case you haven't allotted any points to meteorstrike, which also worked really well as Hexmaster noted)

I have found Freeze works best on ALL Orcs, no matter how large or powerful. Freeze the drummer FIRST, cause he heals ALL other orcs. Once frozen, one or two hits with a sword finishes him.

I realize this is an old post.....but...if you don't mind using steel scorpions they work too. Or relatively strong summoned critters might have a rather effective method of dealing with them....but I have no idea as right now steel skeletons from the sumoned skeletal wall spell are more of a nuisance to orcs than a real threat right now....only one point in that.

All orc drummers are very easy to kill if you are mage - combination of freeze and other spell (for example meteor strike) kill them in very short time. |

Or, get the freeze spell. Even at low skill and power it works wonders on Orcs.

I would follow the drummer until he ran into something. Then he would turn and face me. Then I would step close to him and hack him. He couldn't use the drum when I was facing him close. |

defeated the orc drummer with a bow twice till i got to a higher level then i started owning them with just a sword.Killing them with a bow may take some time but its affective if you use poison arrows as well.  |
