How to defeat Ghost Lights

Hi,

Find the Ghost Lights very irritating but cannot seem to kill them...

Did it once by casting the Ice Arrow spell but seem to be a fluke then...couldn't do it again since.

So any tips in beating these irritating lights?

Thanks.

well , in the oldworld I defeated one , near the ice dragon - I just shot him a fireball and he was dead

you need to be kind of level 20 to kill them I think

I tried fire arrow, but I couldn't kill them with that either. I was able to kill them with a weapon though, just keep swinging, you'll hit it eventually I think, but you have to be pretty good to hit them.

Why kill them at all? They give just meager 60 or so XP, anyway, and they're rather harmless. The may zap ypu once in a while, yes, but they nearly do no damage, and if you ignore them, they ignore you.

You don't have to be level 20 - it's just a matter of hitting them, which seems really hard to do. My strategy is to just flail around with my sword until I eventually connect. I seem to hit them more when they do that get-surrounded-by-blue-mist-and-flash thing, but I dunno if that's just me or not. They have an annoying habit of attacking me right away if I'm near them when I load a saved game, even if I didn't do anything to them. The worst is when I'm trying to take on a warg at level 9 in leather armor and my target keeps shifting to them.

On a different subject - where'd you get your sig, Jmurdock? It's cool.

Can't help but kill them if you hire Biff

Sig is what our hero said to Talas in G1 after getting the almanac from the black goblins. Just seemed appropriate.

@Donut of Doom, did you mean the avatar? There's a bunch to choose from, check at bottom of the page of your profile, should say change avatar. When you said sig, thought you might have meant signature. That's what you get form an old geezer.

it seems like they're invincible except when they briefly flash, then I noticed I could hit them.

That might be cause they're still then. I watched Biff kill the ones near Ice dragon once, no problem. Just kept swinging til he hit.

Sorry I wasn't more explicit. I meant your signature: "Just watch out you don't stress yourself out." It's interesting. Where did you find it?

Yep, right after they got back to swamp camp. So I'm not as senile as I thought.

I think what happens with bloodflies sometimes, happens with Ghost Lights too: If the enemy is hovering above you, it can't be hit. Sometimes bloodflies hover above your head and you have to back off first, and then hit...
Well with GLs, try to be on high ground, like on a rock while fighting against them, and if the ground they are hovering is lower than the ground you are standing ( but not TOO low ), you will land a hit.( With a melee weapon )

Yes, I found this to be true as well. You just have to move a little.
