Should I be a higher level at this point?

I'm in Chapter 2 and I've already given the offer of peace (I joined the mercenaries) to Lord Hagen. He told me that in order to recieve the Eye of Innos, I have to go back to the Colony. I'm only a level 4, so should I go out and kill some stuff and level up, or should I just go to the Valley of the Mines?[/code]

Thanks! I'll complete some side quests and kill some beasts. I've still got to deal with that scurvy moneylender. 20% my ass.

Hehehe For some easy money, you could always turn in some criminals in the Harbor District. Or just beat people up . Have you tried the bandit camp? With that merc armor, and some strategy, you should be fine. I always donate gold to the Priest of Innos, too - at 50gp a pop, you get 5 hp. Sure as heck beats the shrines!

I've gone in at level 4 and it's doable but a pain in the rear. Definitely kill a few critters first, and finish as many quests as you can before going in.

I don't know exactly where the Bandit Camp is, but I'll find it. I know there are some in Jack's lighthouse, and I'll deal with them. I just got to level 5.

Which bandit camp? There's four others I think. One by east gate, one by Akil's farm (see dead end reaguarding thieve's guild), one by Onar's farm near Grom and one way back of that valley by Lobart's farm (that one you might want to wait til later though )

Thanks jmurdock! I'll check all of those.

@Pladio-I've already killed the bandits at the game's beginning.

I just got back from the first trip to the valley. I entered at level 14, and I'm still running away from the orcs! I put off chapter 2 for as long as possible, but lost some experience due to some odd decisions that kept me from getting full access to the Thieves Guild quests. Oh well.

I don't think it's a good idea for me to turn in criminals to Lord Andre, especially since I'm a criminal myself. Also, I plan to beat up and rob the moneylender.

How Much money does the money lender have on him if you knock him down? Does he have the 1000 that he offers to lend? Let me know.

It's kind of funny, but he only has one gold piece on him? It makes very little sense, but I suppose he's got more locked in his chest, and since I haven't learned lock-picking yet, I can't open it!

Ripping moneylender was one of the funniest thing.
You can do so much to him(nothing good of course).
First you can sneak to him at night(about 2)and take all things from his house, don't forget the chest in which he keeps blood chalice from Lutero for thives guild quest blood chalices(combination for chest is L-RR-L-R).
Then you can picpocket his book of debts(at least 20 dexterity required).
Then give the book to Thorben for +200xp.Ask Thorben to sell you some lockpicks and then buy a book for 100 gold. Then give the book to Coragon for +200xp and special beer.Ask him to get something to drink and buy book again. Then go to Hanna and give her the book for +200xp and bag in which is 10 lockpicks and key to thieves treasure on the island to the left when looking from where Laras stands.
And the last ask Lehmar to borrow you 200 gold(if you ask 1000 he will give you only 100).Return to him after couple of days.First you will be stoped by Meldor.Kick him for +120xp(there will be no trouble with the guard 'cause he started it). Then enter Lehmar's house.Tell him you won't pay him anything and beat him up(+240xp).
Then go to the Moe(in front of the PegLeg tavern). He will also tell you about this so beat him up too for another +120xp.
After this there will be no problems with them and you can keep 200 gold.

Hehe another easy way to get $$$ is this. Go to Ignaz (alchemist, harbour district), get an oblivion spell off him, beat him up, cast it on him, then steal all his spell scrolls. Do this often till you get around 5+ oblivion scrolls. Now just find people to beat up, get them on their own, smash them, take all their stuff and cast oblivion on them, they'll never know hehe . Also here's a note try not to do it to merchants you will want to buy off later, their stocks will be gone and you will not get there wares of them when knocking them out.
