Morrowind Newbie Has Dumb Questions. LOL!!! |
|
I have been playing for a few days and accumulated a lot of stuff. Is there a place you can where you can make your own house? It would be nice to store some of these things.
I also wondered if that was what the construction disk was for. Please explain. Thanks. |

There are some plug-ins which give you houses of your own; but if you play the game vanilla and follow the storyline/main quest, you will get a place of your own (or rather, two: one borrowed, the other one to keep) as well. This may take quite some time, though.
You can, however, occupy some of the houses you 'cleaned out' for some quests, and nobody will care.
However, be careful when storing your stuff in your freshly acquired house(s), because it has happened that stuff stored in chests disappeared - reportedly stuff stored in chests with respawning content. I never encountered this problem personally, though.
If you want to go safe and don't care about chaos, just dump your belongings on the floor.
EDIT
The Construction Kit is for creating plug-ins for Morrowind (like, houses or quests or NPCs of your own). _________________ Jaz |

I find the roof of Caius Cosades' house to be handy as a storage area. The only annoying part is that it's right on an area load boundary, so you'll frequently get a slight pause when you move to the west end of it.
As Jaz says, in Morrowind items are safe just left lying on the ground. If you want, just pick a mountain somewhere and cover it with items. _________________ Charlie Dobbie

Thanks for the help and I'm happy to hear I will get my own house. Did you say only after finishing the Main Quests? I guess I'm about half way through. It's a good thing for the journal as I'm so over loaded with quests and running around I get confused. Do you suggest I finish the main quests first?

IIRC, you have to finish the House quests, and not just the main quest. Anyway, I think she was asking about the construction Set CD. It contains the models(3d Objects), textures(2d surfaces), icons(what you see in your inventory), and other resources that you would need to create game modules. |

Nobody is correct, you're rewarded with a house when you play the House quest(s). So, choose your noble Great House carefully... the three have totally different architectural styles... _________________ Jaz |

Thanks again everyone. I was wondering what the construction part was. I don't think I'd be too good at that.
Can you change your house alience if you decide you like another one better?

You can't join a different house once you joined one if that's what you mean. You can leave a House(get expelled), but you can only return to the same one. |

Okay what happens if I do something to get expelled. Will that effect my reputation? Also would I then be able to apply to another house?
Here's another question unrelated. I can now use the trap soul spell but how do you get it into the gem? Thanks for so much help. |

As I said previously, you can't join a diffeerent House once expelled. And IIRC, it won't affect your reputation. As for the trap soul spell, it will only succeed if you have a gem capable of handling the soul that you're catching. It automatically places the soul into your gem. |
