How do I open a trap door?

Okay, what am I missing?

Right after escaping from the arena there is an injured imp, and I am supposed to find a tooth from a beastie to help cure it. Also in that room is a trap door that I can not open. At all. I have no clue as to how to go about it.

Is the beastie with the tooth behind that trap door?
How do I open the trap door?

Also on that level, there is a lever puzzle that I can solve (pretty easy actually, just split the party up), but at the far end of the corridor after that puzzle there is a large room ... off that large room is another room I can not find a key for! What gives!?!!?

Is *this* where to find the beastie?
How do I open this door?

Now, I will most likely feel pretty darned stupid when you guys tell me how to solve the open the door questions ... I was playing while quite sick ... but, for the life of me, I could not figure these out.

I am pretty sure the beastie is not on the next level down, and I KNOW it is not in the abandoned shrine. So if the beastie is not behind either of those doors, please let me know ... but please *don't* tell me where it is if it is on a different level of the fortress.

PS - I was playing the unpatched version ... if that makes a difference.

Hehe, poor Lintra.

*pulls up the BD walkthrough she was working on before she quit playing the game because it bloody keeps crashing, grinds teeth bitterly*

Okay, first, the beastie is in the room you can't get into. Hint: This beastie likes it when it's dark. If it's dark, then it'll unlock the door for you.

That trap door won't open until you help the Imp.

How the *heck* did you figure that out? Sheesh. I put out most of the torches in desperation .... I guess I must've missed one. Lintra grinds his teeth in frustration . So now the question is, do I head ALL the way back to (I am at the exit to the fortress) help the imp out? Hmmmm. Guess it depends on how bored I am at the time *grin*.

How did I figure it out? When all else fails, try the least obvious solution.
