cannot play HELP!

hi, I have playing gothic 2 for three weeks,no problem.this afternoon I kept getting error message as follows: vfile:err;-2 cant find file:-work\data\sound\itmw-2h_02.mrm:255 when I try again pop up says vitual disk file system initializing and configuring. the gane starts to load then stops. please help I cant play.running p4 3.2 radeon 9800xt. 1024 ram

In case of file related problems the standard answer is: copy your saves folder to another location and reinstall the game.
