Both of these are Biographies about Musashi written by Martial Artists. And they both contain their own translations of Musashi's text.

"Musashi" by Eiji Yoshikawa, is highly recommended. This novel is considered the "Gone with the Wind" of Japan. It is one of the greatest novels I have ever read.



There is an excellent trilogy of movies based off Yoshikawa's novel.



1. Musashi Miyamoto
2. Duel at Ichijoji Temple
3. Duel at Ganryu Island
