Selling stolen stuff!!!!

Awhile ago i read you can sell stolen stuff, even from the people where you stole it from..now...

i did that little quest to find the loot for the guard , fargoth was hiding....i grabbed the ring back...can i now walk over to fargoth and sell it to him? or can i only sell/buy from traders not normal npcs? would be so cool
to just sell him the ring , would love to see his reaction..hahaha

Just do it!

LOL - just do it and see what happens. If you don't like the outcome you can always restore...

In the first shop you can visit, I sold all the silverware and bottles and bread and stuff from the building you come out of after choosing your class. Then I took the staff by that old lady and she beat me to death!

You can only sell or buy items from a merchant (i.e. anyone with an dialogue option to barter). You cannot sell items that you stole back to the person you stole it from. If you do, they will reconize the deception and report you.

Heheheheh that was my first beat-down playing MW. And she looked so skinny: I figured she was an easy mark. Boy was I wrong! LOL

the only thing that sucks about the AI is the hive like mentality within a closed area.

They all come after you even if you punch someone in a closed room.

I could be wrong, and mabe there might be a skill to aid in indoor muggings...

What I have found is that if you steal something, even if you think that you got away with it, when you get caught later they take the stolen stuff away from you.

The exception is things like the ring that you are supposed to steal.

So I run and sell the stuff to a vendor as soon as possible.

Once you have sold it you seem to be off the hook.

What I want to know is how they know you stole it if you didn't get caught in the act.
