If you prey at one of the shrines dotted around the place and donate 100gp, you get your stats increased.

Not sure, I don't think they do anything to tell you the truth. Apart from one quest where you need the blessings of the gods.

Increasing of the stats only works eleven times and only once a day if you pray with the proper donation. Which stats is increased is random if you don't belong to any guild. After the stats have been increased a prayer will heal you completly. Works only once a day.

Daron's blessings will raise your stats, if you give him a certain amount of donation. You can donate a total of no more than 2000 gold pieces. The blessings will increase HP, MP, EXP, or LP, and choose the options randomly.
Anyway, I found a Beliar's Shrine at Xardas' tower and the red jit occurred whenever I prayed. What's the use of the shrine? |

the first time i gave a donation to vatras i got +2 on my mana dont know if he gives more then once something

There is no Beliar shrine anywhere. Only "shrine" dedicated to Beliar was in G1, in orc city.
As for Daron's blessing, then the max amount of coins you can give to him is 200 gold. Not that it's worth it, it will still be only +2 to mana, at least so far I have always got ONLY +2 to mana from him, nothing else.
As for the rest of the shrines, then these work once per day. They will raise your stats, random at that, by 1-2 points (STR, DEX) up to 4 (Mana, HP), once per day, ten (10) times in total, when you pay 100 gold. After that, it will just either heal you, fill your mana, or do both, again once per day. I'd suggest to wait with the praying and paying to shrines until you actually join some guild, as being the member of the guild, generally, gives you somewhat better boost and to more/better stats. Also, note that the amount of points gained differ with the guild: i.e. as a Mercenary, you get +1 to STR, but as a Paladin, you can get +2 to STR. |

The Beliar shrine IS in Gothic 2... provided you have the add-on. I haven't found a use for it as of yet, either, but should I ever find out, I'll tell you  .

The shrines stop working in Chapter 3 as part of the storyline I think. |

The Beliar shrine has been added by the addon "Die Nacht des Raben" ("The Night of the Raven") to Xardas' tower. It must be used to improve a quite good weapon you get during the storyline of the addon. |
