I've said it before and I'll say it again. Do we really know we can blame "It is hard to find a publisher"? What if PB is demanding they get a three game deal, or something that would be considered outrageous, and not settling for less? Fact is we don't know why they can't get a publisher. Could be their own fault.

I know the game is finished. I was replying to the point why it was hard to find publishers apparently in general.
I've heard stories from both developers and publishers that are opposite from each other. Both of them are right most of the time in their own way.

But what stands is that there is no guarantee that a game will turn out to generate enough revenues to make it worth to invest money into it, not even the fact that a lot of people say they think it's great game.

I think there is no point in speculating why Gothic is still unannounced for the english world. Responsibility is on both sides, i suppose...

Welcome here, Anry Seagull!
I assume, Wiz8 will be published in Russian language in Russia?
Do you think, that there'll be a market for an English language Gothic in Russia?

Is money have different languages? Of course, Wiz8 will be publish here in Russian language, but don't u think that SirTech have nothing for it? U want get the money for your work or not? I'll be very glad to see Gothic here in Russian language and I buy it for sure if someone publish the game here. And I am not the only one - RPG is very popular in Russia.

BTW I think that the English language Gothic have a chance here. Trust me. Let's take a look on my table... Earth 2150, Submarines Titans, some another games in "Originals" series which was publish here in original english and in russian versions too. U know, many russian gamers prefer english versions, I know it, I among them )

Now we don't speak about pirates... U can't even imagine by what amounts they sell games here, but if publisher seriously start to work with title... Last example - Serious Sam. When huge publisher "1C" lay hands on it we can't buy original anythere till they translated and realesed the game.

The only reason I think its a good game are the reviews it has been getting. I also like the comparision to Ultima 9. I liked Ultima 9 but found aspects of it bad. From the things I have read the game is similar to Ultima 9 without a lot of the things that made Ultima 9 bad. By the way, whats an Anry Seagull? Angry Seagull?

Wow! Why "Angry"? It's not about me
Actually my real russian name is Andrey - Andrew in english. I think that Anry Seagull sounds good, better than Andrey Seagull or Andrew Seagull, some french here, u know... But don't ask me why "Seagull" - i like that bird and let's stop on it
And thanks for your "Ultima 9" post.

ROTFLOL
This greatly increases my chance of getting a DUTCH version of Gothic!
Hey, why not? It's a lot like German so the translation should be easier then into English or Russian

I don't know if it is really a problem of translation. That is probably one of the easier parts of converting the game. They have to record all new voices with new actors. That is probably where the time and effort are spent...
