The best thing about BG2 was the fact that you could interact with other characters in your group and the fact that the graphics were 2D, so every building didnt look the exact same. The side quests were great too. Neverwinter nights was the biggest pile of crap, and icewind dale was boring beyond belief and had no plot. If the developers want to make a good game they should follow the mould of bg 1and2.

I've heard from Atari employees that someone was working on BG3 and that an announcement would come soon. It's been 2 years.

I doubt anyone is working on BG3.

Well, a previous BG3 was cancelled ( BlackIsle I think ) a few months ago, but rumours from Atari in October last year said they were working on it. Since then, no news at all. And Atari is not in a good state right now ).

The Black Isle version was called Project Jefferson and looked really promising. It didn't really have anything to do with BG1 or 2, but that story was wrapped up anyway.

I think that was cancelled ages ago however when Black Isle went out of business. Maybe 18 months ago?

BG3 was not cancelled by atari and that was not an rumor from atari that they are making BG3. That was offcially announced project by atari.. What seems to be problem atari cannot find anyone to do BG3 after all it's in sop big shoes.. and even few rumors say atari might use Black Isle still for the plans and stuff already made to BG3 to complete it.

I even asked atari community and they wouldn't answer to me but admin said that it's still alive they simply don't like to raise the hype of it.

Bioware doesn't have any other PC projects in development. Obsidian isn't working on it. Troika is out of business. Irrational isn't making it.

Who praytell has been making BG:3 secretly all this time?

My sources say it isn't in actual production. Atari talked about it (as we all know) -- but nothing actually happened.

I suspect you are right.

I'm wondering if there is someone we have overlooked that could be working on it, but I don't think we have.

We already have a Diablo style Baldur's Gate. It's called Dark Alliance.

Good Riddance to Troika.. Smart move going out of business before the lawyers got ahold of them. Producing so many unsupported and bug ridden piece of crap games... they deserved to die..

I still want my money back for TOEE.

BG 1 and 2 are the best.
IWD not too bad.
diab has no real story and is 2nd best, never finished expansinon pack.
nw cant seem to get on with it lost intererest may go back as its still installed, may be a bit too indepth for 1hr a day play.

I want bg3 like bg not 3d, yes epic, why develop a character just to end in 30hrs.
