What is your favourite class and race when playing? |
|
I apologise now if the topic has been done! I used the search facility to the best of my ability but could not find anything relating to the above.
Anyway my choice is spell users as they provide alot of variety and I also like the pretty graphics and sounds the spells make in most games.
Race would be human as they usually good all rounders and don't usually have class and level restrictions.
The Simpsons did it!

Race: Lizardmen
Class: Warriors/Monks because they're usually easy to solo with. |

Wizadrds/Human is my favorite choice. Second round trough (not many games force me to go trough twice) is warrior/barbarian. |

I like the unstoppable endurance powers of fighters in CRPGs. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

For me it has to be Elves as they are just too cool (I like the peaceful but dangerous approach) (I especially love Dark Elves but Drow are rare in CRPG and tend not to be good character).
My favourite class has to Paladin - the constant fight against temptation and often missing out on cool toys because you are honourable.
So er.... Elven Paladin get my vote (thank god for 3E D&D and in AD&D 2E Elves could be paladins booo) _________________ "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true."

Depends on the game, but generally race = Humanzee, class = Mime. If that's not available, I'll go for a Thief or Assassin, and I'm not picky about race (although I tend to steer clear of sweaty dwarves). |

Human if possible, thief or techie/hacker, depending on the setting... I prefer the silent approach. _________________ Jaz |

Human or half-elf are my prefered races. I like playing thieves or support characters like clerics or bards usually. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

High Elves. If they are not available, i would go for whatever the alternative good elves are. Preffered classes - depends on the game, but normally Sorcerer, Thief or Ranger. |

My first choice is usually an elven mage; preference for sorcerers. Played a mage/thief once and that was fun. Rarely play Humans by choice; they're just so bland and boring. Fighters? Well, I guess the big dumb oxes are useful, but I prefer the more intellectual approach. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

First time thorough the game I play thief-like character, since I love to check belongings of the passerby as well as their locked cabinets/chests/closets etc. _________________ Money - An article which may be used as a universal passport to everywhere except heaven, and as a universal provider of everything except happiness. |

Class: Fighter/Mage, I like buffing up characters. Clerics have nice buffs sometimes, but mages tend to have more interesting spells.
Race: Human, if posible, since they usually are more versatile in most games; Any race that allows fighter/mages is fine though, really. |

When possible I play Classes that can cast Spells and use Swords. So I play usually Fighter/Mages, Rangers or Paladins but never Clerics (I hate the Idea to beg for your Spells from some Deity) or Bards (I don't like the Core-Idea of the Class to entertain People).
For Races I prefer "Renegade-Races" like Tieflings and Half-Drows or Chaonds (Humans with Slaad-Blood). If they are not available I go for Half-Elves, Dark-Elves, Vampires (Until this Day only in M&M or (last resort) Humans - never Elves (The Role don't suit me). _________________ "Insanity in individuals is something rare - but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule."

I often steer clear of magic (depends on the game system, but I really don't like the way it's handled in D&D and similar systems), but I must say playing a fighter/mage in Arx Fatalis is probably the most fun I've ever had in an RPG. |
