spoiler! 3 questions

hey guys, 3 problems:
1) I found the missing soldier in the warehouse and I told him to stay where he was and then forgot him there now when I got back for him he was gone. how can I find him?
2) I told the old man in peninsula to come with me (you know, the guy who informed me about the hidden access to the prison under the ground). he followed me into the prison through the main gate (cause I found the key in the meanwhile) and I told him to stay in one of the cells. then I went back to pick him up and he wasn't usable for conversation any more so he stayed there. what should I do?
3) I found the amulet and the portrait what the woman wanted in the city core. but I couldn't find the 3rd art piece (though I found the building where it was supposed to be and I spoke with the man who owned that).
any suggestions?

thanks
neph

1. Hmm. Try to go and talk to the guard captain who gave you the quest, maybe it bugged somehow and the guard is "back" with the other guards. I just told him to get out on his own and when I went to speak with the captain, the quest was done.

2. You should have escorted him to the main gate of the Peninsula district. I fear that the quest is broken now. Seems that these types of quests tend to break if you don't do it the right way immediatly. Usually, when you have to free an NPC or get him to a specific place, it's best to do it right away.

3. You mean the urn? I found all three items in the corresponding houses. Just loot every chest and examine every item you get. You will know when you find the right one. If you mean the house where the guy first acts tough and then starts whimpering and tells you to take what you want, just loot the room he is in and you should find what you're looking for.

Some of the quests seem to be quite buggy sometimes, although I've had no problems, at least for now. Only "bug" is that if I do a quest-related thing or find a quest item for a quest I have not yet gotten, I get information out of them like I would have already accepted the quest. One quest also bugged when I talked to two persons in the wrong order. The first one was working, but the second conversation didn't reflect the information I had from the first one. Still completed the quest, as you could get the needed items anyway..

thanks for all. one more question: I found the chest that may contain the urn but there is a trap on it which I can't get through. I thought it would be nice to tell my follower to open it up but I cannot give such an order, and if I open it, I'm dead.

Hmm. don't know if destroying the chest will trigger the trap or not.. One way to get through traps that are too hard to remove is to get some protection from elements-scrolls or such. Atleast rangers get a spell for that in lvl 4, 1st level ranger spell.. I've opened chests with hard traps by using that, it absorbs 30 damage and with a succesfull saving throw, you should be able to open it without dying. Depending on your HP, ofcourse.

Which is why it's good to use a ranged weapon or a spell. Mostly though... you'll probably end up taking the hit if you can't disarm it.

Tomi should be able to disarm it... or the pixie familiar if you're a mage. Or you yourself if you're a rogue.

Pesky traps is what potions of endurance are for (does Cat's Grace increase yoru reflexes??? if so, that may be your sol'n). You can up your hp to 90+ and only about 3, or so, traps in chapter one are capable of doing that much damage. Even those have to roll for damage and then the damage is that only about 40% of the time.

There is nothing so frustrating in this game (well, almost) like when you spend 20 mins trying to get into a chest with this nasty trap on it, only to end up finding 24gp in it. *ARGH*
