*shrug* I think the advertisers are going to be the real winners, but that's just me!

That'll be the only reason why I watch it. The ads are usually the best part.

The Patriots are my favorite team. And they're currently winning 14-10! Woohoo!

I hear Justin Timberlake got a little frisky at half-time. He described it as a "wardrobe malfunction"!

D'oh! That's what I get for changing the channel during half-time. I missed all the fun. Somehow, I don't think MTV will be asked to produce the half-time show again anytime in the near future.

EDIT: After reading some more stories on this and seeing Justin standing there like an idiot next to Janet, I have concluded that if he was any sort of gentleman, then he would have given her his coat. What a moron.

I heard a few radio talk shows this morning saying CBS knew all along what was to be expected in the half time show. They wanted to "shock" people because it increases ratings. If that's true, their apology for the half time show is a flat out lie. If you think the half time show is bad, expect to see worse next year.

I doubt CBS knew about it, they have enough experience with the FCC to think that they could get away with that, and they rely to much on their ‘family‘ shows to risk getting that kind of reputation. MTV on the other hand has no family entertainment to be put at risk, and sometimes relies on ‘shock TV.’

It must be a publisety stunt from Janet. She had something underneath, a little to convenient (sp?).

To bad i could only watch the game for s short while, i went to sleep after the first TD. I needed my 5 hours of sleep. Because i needed to get up early next morning (that day).

No no no, I think it was a complete coincidence, and absolutely unintended. Just because Justin was singing "I'll have you naked by the end of this song" as he tugged at her clothes, just because there was an obvious handhold for him to grab, just because that particular section came away very easily, just because they were so quick to dim the lights you might think they were ready for it, just because it was organised by MTV who have a reputation for doing that kind of thing, just because Janet Jackson refered to it as a "stunt", just because Virgin Records have now pushed Janet's new single's release date forward one month...

This is all entirely circumstantial.

the way cfmdobbie said it makes it truly clear, but could you specify 'that particular section', why don't you just say the coat?

There was no sarcasm present in the preceding post. Nope, non at all.

I agree with you cfm, although I was unaware of all that you stated, just looking at the still photos from the BBC leading upto the event, it was obvious they were up to something ... and I am not sure JJ was 100% thrilled with the idea.
