As the local forums' fight promoter this is a question naturally concerning me .

yes, you will be able to fight for money but it is forbidden to do this, so you have to be careful where you do it.

1. Will there be more spells?
2. If yes, than how many, and give an example, please ?
3. What are the pluses and minuses of becoming a mage?

Welcome guys, good to see ya!

Could you explain the differences in the combat system (melee, ranged, magic) if there are any?

Have you made up your mind about a collectorīs edition with a lot of gimmicks (cloth map, DVD, a Mud action figure )? Will there be a possibility to purchse Gothic 2 in another than the country-specific language, for example buy an English version in Germany ... ?
This was impossible for Gothic although there was some demand.

How much more music will there be in Gothic 2 as compared to Gothic 1?
Will the soundtrack for the game be available on CD (in a collectors edition or seperately) or for mp3 download like the sample of the title theme was?

Hmmm...why not order from for instance the UK....?
That's how I got Gothic since I couldn't find it in Sweden at all at the time.( www.softwarefirst.com is where I got it....and at nice speed and P&P too...)

Yeah, but if somebody from Australia orders from Germany the transport can cost as much as the game.

Oh...K...so you mean someone strange enough to want the German version out in the rest of the world....

TBH,I doubt it possible....I mean, any game store would want to sell his copies nad it's how they make their cash....so for instance getting an Australin store to stock up on German versions of a game wouldn't be very likely to happen.(nor would it be that JoWood presses the German version on them....)
Unless you have something along the lines of softwarefirst or gameplay....they do have pretty nice P&P even worldwide...(in fact I'd usually pay more for P&P within Sweden than I do ordering from one of those...)

hello daedalus,
the world of gothic 2 is a whole new world.
nevertheless it contains parts of the map of gothic 1...well nearly the whole
surface..
old dungeons are not included..
the old surface is mostly the same but graphicaly improved.
but some things happened there....you will wonder bout some spots....

the new world is about 2 times larger than the old one (the old map excluded).
there will be also dungeons and caves. and also open water and beautiful
landscapes.
so there will be much to see in gothic II.
if i have some spare time, i will be there to answer questions that belong to
level design and graphical imrpovements...so keep asking

Could you guys make mod makers life a bit easier than it was with G1, and will there be any official tool for making some, even later after release?
And english version this time It's really nice to have you guy's here, when ever you have time (limited like we all understand) for that

bit to soon to think about that, we are very busy now to keep things in time.
so this question is one we answer when we are already gold.

Hi! It is a big pleasure to have you here. Speak computer to computer with the developers of the greatest game ever. I feel so, honored. =)

1.Will it be possible to change what people think of you? Like, if you kill a man's brother, will the man be less kind against you?

2. Is it going to be more attacks in the game? I guess you played Neverwinter Nights. There you can do a sneak attack, knockdown and aim for a certain body part. So this question leads to another, hope you donīt mind if I ask three questions.

3. Will the game be more of a RPG then it was before, will the character progress be more like the one in Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights and so on? I was just wondering because I liked your char progress but it was to little options. Some called your game more of a adventure/action game then a RPG. But I guess that is why I liked it so much. =) Oh, I am sorry to say this, but. This leads to a other question, I promise there will be no more.

4. How many more options will it be?

Oh, btw. IT is soon your biethday KaiRo, when i write this I think that it is one day left. So Happy birthday KaiRo.

PS, I donīt want this to turn in to a happy birthday topic. =)

Will the hero have more of a personalized sword? can we MAKE a personalized sword with all the fixins. Like specific ordaments on the hilt? Maybe a weapon creation system?
Oh and will you get the same guy to do the hero's voice.
What about a home? Something that the hero will dwell more in. In gothic 1 I found myself not being able to get home or not feeling like it was MY place. I found myself just beating up people, puting them in an ice block and sleeping in their huts.

Thanks for giving us an opportunity to ask a few questions.

1) Are there more chances for role-playing in GII? Maybe even an alignment meter that keeps track of how many good or evil actions you have committed.

2) Are there any noticable changes to the game's AI?
