I hope we never learn his name, but that someone will give us a name and someone will talk with you about the reason you have been sent in the barrier wich crime you commited. but they have to keep real vage, so this forum will have a lot of topics about it

I dont think they would call the hero Stan. 
But iv heard (Rumors) that they will reveal his name in the future Gothic series. |

Well, I remember now. It was in chapter 2 when the mage hero came into the dungeon to free Gorn and was greeted something like " Hey, Stan! I didn't expect that person is you ".
I may be wrong of course, but check it out yourself and let me know. |

when are we going to see gothic 3in europe espesially in greece because i love this game i finished gothic 2 more than 20 time and gothic 1 more than 50 i am obssesed with this game 
about gothic 2:night of the raven ?

Yeah I found the easteregg too, of course they needed a model for the hero:
But why doesn't the hero wear any glasses?! 
Now we also know why the hero has the funny ponytail/stick whatever you want to call it. Mike Hoge has a ponytail too.

Maybe he has contacts, after all fighting dragons and orcs is very bad for your glasses, I know. I tried it and they just smashed them when my glasses fell on the ground. Ahum
