try getting 256 MB more ram and a Geforce Ti 4200 with 128 MB memory, or a Radeon 9500 Pro instead of the Geforce. it shoudn't cost more than 200 dollars for both the memory and either one of the video cards. go to www.pricewatch.com for good deals. I just upgraded from a Geforce 2 to a Geforce 4 and got more memory, and it helped a LOT in MW. _________________ "It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible." |

euros and dollars are pretty close together...and you're not gonna get any better performance without a hardware upgrade...sorry _________________ "It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible." |

Customizing The Optimizer |
|
AT first, the Optimizer only gave a slight increase in FPS for me. Its when I started to customize, it, playaround with it, did I see huge increases in FPS. I played around with just about every single setting, and I have perfected it for my PC, my game. I also played around with the Morrowind.ini for hours, and I have that as perfect as it can be. I'm happily running around with 30-30 FPS outdoors in cities like Balmora and Vivec, and outdoors inthe wild with an FPS of 35-50, also running indoors at 60-99 FPS.
Do you know what actually helped when I was in third person view? The Mod 'Rhedds Heads' from this site:
http://home.wnm.net/%7Ebgriff/MW_Home.html
It decreased the polygon count of my own characters head by about 100, and it actually did increase the FPS somewhat when in 3rd person view. Now I'm trying to figure out how to place some of these heads on NPCS...that way the whole world of Morrowind will feel a 100 polygon decrease in towns with the NPCS I affected. It would be very nice... _________________ (-[ApoK Forever]-) |

flipmoejack, what settings do you reccomend using for the fps optimizer? I'm pretty much clueless as to use it and i haven't looked at the help file. also, what can be done to the morrowind.ini to improve it? thanks in advance _________________ I may be green now, but i will rise to become the nest!...best! |
