Piranha Bytes' Kai Rosenkranz says that the world is about four times bigger than the G2 and add-on worlds together. Link: http://worldofgothic.com/gothic3/?go=gc05 (Just before the questions.)

Kai confirmed that the world of Gothic will be four times larger than the accessible parts of the world in gothic 2 and addon together.

I think that means 4 times bigger

I think we shouldn't pay too much attention to such details.

As if we would notice the difference...

4 times bigger would mean 5 times as big as the world of G2 and the addon. Nonetheless in both cases the world is big.

The math elludes me. Let's say the map of G2+addon=2 units

4 times as big = 4x2=8
4 times bigger = 4x2=8

Maybe this will help to clear it up:

1 time bigger would mean 2+2=4
2 times bigger 2+(2+2)=6
etc
4 times bigger 2+(2+2+2+2)=10

1 time as big (little silly) is just 1*2=2
2 times as big 2*2=4
3 times as big 3*2=6
4 times as big 4*2=8

so 8 vs 10, or like 4 vs 5 like in my post. It's not the same.

Exactly.
KaiRo says different things in every interview. Yesterday I downloaded a movie posted on the front page in which he said the whole island of Khorinis is about "1/4th or 1/5th" of the G3 world.

Okay, four times as big, that's what I meant, anyway, gotta choose my words more carefully.

Probably because he doesn't know it for sure either. When you look at the addonworld you can see that the world is everything except flat, so just the size of the map isn't saying a lot, when you can climb mountains, go underground in large caves, etc.

In one of the first interviews KaiRo said it would be 3 times bigger, now it's already 4 or 5 times. No wonder the game is far from finished; the longer they work on it, the bigger they make the world.

I hope it doesn't get to big and that they make, like in the other Gothics, really sepparate parts. (Instead of a Morrowind world -> loading during playtime)
