HoMM 5: Petition to Delay the Game @ Evil Avatar

Evil Avatar has picked up a news tidbit about a petition that has been started by the Heroes of Might & Magic community in an effort to delay the game's release.
All of the undersigned wish to see Heroes of Might and Magic 5 as the title that reinvents the series, the title that brings glory back to the Heroes of Might and Magic name. All wish to see more releases in this new world that Ubisoft has created for Might and Magic. However, we also feel that, should you release the game on its currently scheduled release date, all of our dreams will be shattered.</blockqote>
Pushing back the release date even one month will provide many benefits, most of which will in turn equate to increased long-term profits for Ubisoft, and increased longevity for the Heroes Series.
You can read the rest of the petition and register to sign or comment upon it at SaveHeroes.org.

Thou shall not say these words ... never again !

No in fact this game will be just another "Etherlords". I loved HoMM III but vol.4 and also Etherlords are just not the same. I think it's because 3D has no soul. I like playing 3D FPS, but for some games, you need lovely 2D details, pixels and artwork-portraits. WC3-3D has no soul, if I look deep into these games I see nothing, no love, no soul, only $$$ ...

Nobody is complaiing about the graphics of the game, most everyone likes them quite a bit. It's some of the other aspects of the game that are prompting the delay request.

Similarly, the failure of H4 had nothing to do with it's graphics.

I signed the petition because, like all the other M&M series fans, I want this game to be the big mainstream hit that helps it regain the thunder that was stolen from it.

However, it won't work. This never works. They tried to do it with Deus Ex 2, remember? The petition to delay it to iron out the humungous bugs and overall slowness of the engine? They never did, and look what happened. A failed game that no one really remembers. Sort of like Dungeon Lords.

I think Ubisoft knows what they have on their hands. The problem is, they don't really care. They are willing to put the entire series' name on the line just to make the fiscal year. To them, it isn't that big of a deal if it tanks. They have Splinter Cell for crying out loud, they can make their money back when the next one comes out later this year.

They just want to get this little red headed stepchild out the door. If someone picks him up and doesn't return him, all the better.

Why?

Why the request for the delay? I haven't been following development so maybe i am missing something. I know it went into beta recently. Are there beta testers who are saying some negative things about it?
