i've been woundering about a few things about our hero ..
what do we really know about him ?
we dont know his name
we dont know why he was thrown in jail
do we even know his age?
or where he comes from ?
is he from the city or where
me thinks it would be nice if it was possible to find the old orchish profecys xardax speaks off
does anyone have a clue about any of this ? |

I dont belivethat we are supposed to know this, and i dont think were ever gonna find out in anny of the Gothic Games. Its all part of the wonderfull mystery of the World of Gothic.

hmm maybe its to avoid people from identiefying whit the hero and start to run around selling swampweed and killing guys in red while looking for the sleeper |

Well maybe that they'll make a prequel to gothic 
or that you will be able to find out in one of the next gothic games

I think the player is "you"
You controll the player, if you want to beat up a helpless scraper or digger, then that is "you" so the way you play is a reflection of "yourself" therefore the pc-hero must be nameless, from no-where, born anywhere, ageless.

Yeah titus thats right,
Your playing the "role" of him (pc-hero) but it's "yourself" who makes the decisions, he can't think, you can.

Let's make a list of the things we do know about him.
we know he has been accused of a crime and was found guildty and was thrown into the collony (he might have been innocent but was still judged and thrown into the collony innocent).
We know he spend 2 months in some dungeon before he was thrown into the collony (he tells this to Kirgo in the Old Camp).  |

We also know from Gothic 2 That he isn't from Khorinis nor has he been in a cell there because no one recognize hi, accept the one who came out of the VoM

We know he is the man in the orcish prophecies and the chosen of innos. That dungeon must have been on Mainland.
Maybe he was the man who killed King's wife .. who knows ..

Do you mean he can think? or do you mean there are parts in the game where he answers some dialogues automatically ?
