So that makes 5 wins.
This party was OK, but nothing spectacular.
monk, sammy, ranger, priest, bard, alchemist
The alchy was interesting to try, but I don't think I'd use one again. Since I really don't use magic that much, the few good spells he had were pretty much wasted. Tsunami is a great spell, though. That was about the only offensive spell I used regularly.
The sammy was awful in the beginning, but got pretty good by the endgame. Between the Ivory Blade and Enchanted Wakazashi, he dealt good damage and got pretty good criticals. Probably my best melee'er was the ranger. A mook with a Giant's Sword can dole out lots of damage and the unconcious special was wonderful. Maybe next party, I'll include a mook fighter, or some such.
Next time I fire up, I'm going to have to create a majorly combat-heavy party. By the time I get to the midgame, I use very little magic beyond the buff spells. I use ranged weapons long enough to get the in-combat buffs (soul shield, element shield) up and then close for melee. I think a party with both a bard and a gadgy could do OK with a hybrid or two. You'd have access to most of the good buffs by midgame. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.
