Need Help Bad!!!

I am having problems with the game crashing right after I load a saved game. I tried loading a different saved game but it still does it. I tried applying the 1.08k patch, no luck. Tried no sound, no music, lowest possible graphics settings and upgraded all my video, sound and directx drivers and it still freezes.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

System Specs
PIII-500MhZ
128Mb RAM
Windows ME
Stealth III video card (I know its crap)
Sound Blaster sound card (not sure which one)

The game worked well the first day I played it but now it constantly freezes.

I just saw that a guy on this forum was running 333MhZ,128Mb RAM and a geforce video card and he beat the game without having any crashing or performance problems. Why can't I even get as far as to join a camp???

You say youīve updated all your drivers, but at the same time that you donīt know what soundblaster you have. Could be that you got the wrong drivers for it, but since you tried to play without sound, that shouldnīt be it either. I just donīt know what you should do. I would swap OS and vidcard, as ME isnīt the best OS out there, but itīs always a question of money.

I am getting a new video card (ATI Radeon) and an extra 128Mb RAM but I doubt I will be switching from Windows ME for a while. I have the minimum amout of RAM needed to play this game but the video card (I think) is giving me some problems. I tried running gothic with no sound but it crashes anyway. I am currently running the lowest possible amount of detail. Waiting for comp parts to play a game really sucks. Thanks for the help, Pinnen.

Is a Diamond Stealth III Savage 4 video card even supported in this game???

(P.S. How do I change that stupid "Village Dweller" thing under my name?)

Other Savage chips are supported, so there is at least hope. Are you sure you downloaded the latest drivers? S3 is a part of Via nowadays.

Which Radeon do you get? A 8500 I hope?

Windows ME isnīt that much of a problem. Itīs still a Win98.

Your title will change as you get more posts (every 25 posts until 500 when you can choose your own custom title and avatar). Please refrain from double-posting.

Thank you Gorath, I didn't know Diamond is now a part of Via. I keep trying to find the latest drivers but I heard Diamond was bought out. Thank you too Val, that title thing was tripping me out. Thanks for the help guys!
