Hehe,
You guys are pathetic. We're talking....1..2.. days maybe at the most, and give EB a break for god sakes... most of the guys that work there really do know their stuff, and enjoy their work. I find it a bit hard to believe that they would have said 2-3 weeks, when their computer gives them a date to go by.....sure its not always right, but no other retailer even has a system as good as theirs set up, so stop complaining and download a few Morrowind pics to pass the time ) |

You don't understand! I realize it's pathetic, but my hunger for Morrowind is uncanny. I hope it's out today, this time I'm driving over there to check for myself. Bastards.
It's pathetic, I'll admit, but I don't care. It'll all be over when I get that bloody game.
PS- How come none of the gaming sites are announcing that Morrowind is shipping? They usually do that for moderately big titles. |

Not to stoke the fires at all but I was at the local EB yesterday and was told that they had all received an email from "headquarters" saying the game would be in Thursday's shipment. (It had originally been scheduled for Wednesday).
Now, on occasion, this has happened when preorders start to rise right be fore release and corporate holds back copies for web orders etc. On those occasions, I have seen that if the Webpage for EBWorld does not flip over to the date in the email, they usually get the game on the ship date at EB world (which is 5/1/02 right now). |

This sounds logical, and I have seen it happen before..
Manufacturers may push a ship date back a day or so to be able to meet more preorders and prevent a damn riot at a retail outlet! However, with the amount of preorders Morrowind had before it even went gold, I don't think that should be a problem...They seemed to be really on the ball with this one.
I'm still believing that MW should be on shelves by Th. or Fri this week...My copy will probably arrive Monday, and that's just fine by me...I have finals on Monday, and Wed, and I took off work Tues and Fri(Tues to study, Fri to play MW.. hehe). _________________ Member of the "Fantastic ONE"

There have been a lot of rumors on all the MW forums about a possible delay. The wildest rumors have been going round: distribution problems, last minute patches. There are even people blaming Bill Gates for the delay (he wants the PC and XBOX version te be released simultaneously).
I just got this e-mail from Dragon.ca. I believe May 1st (tomorrow!) will be the day:
-----
A last minute delay pushed the release of Elder Scrolls
III Morrowind from April 29th to May 1st. Place your
pre-order by Wednesday and your order will still ship
out with the very first batch of pre-orders.

I phoned EB today (the same EB mentioned in the original post), and they told me that the game was delayed 2 - 3 weeks again. It may have been the same person, I don't know, but I hope that the whole store is full of shit. |

In regards to the 2-3 wk delay, your local Eb is full of it. Something like that would be ALL OVER the net by now, and it ain't. The panicking is about a possible 2-3 DAY delay, and that's pure packing/shipping stuffs.
Regarding Eb, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Ours is well-run, and the manager and staff are all avid gamers. Granted, they're not all avid RPG'ers, but there are two employees who play and follow RPG's at least as closely as I do. It was one of them who warned me away from PoR2, for which I am forever grateful. Our local store has the best selection, best staff, best return poilcy of any game store I've found. (and no, I don't work for 'em)
BTW, they confirm it should be on the shelves by mid-day Thursday here. _________________ Proprietor of

At first I believed EB, perhaps because I was being dumb or something, but after I got here and looked around the net for any of this info, my trust in what they said quickly faded.
It still pisses me off that they lied. Through their teeth. If the game's not in tomorrow and they bullshit me again, I think I'll confront them... maybe to have a little fun before the day the game comes out.
PS- what's PoR2? To me, it looks like PoRN with the N turned on it's side. |

I checked the Morrowind Forums and a adm. said tommorow it will be on some store's shelves, and the 2nd and 3rd the rest will get it. Since they shiped today.
So start getting your sleeping bags ready for tonight on front of a gameming store.
And also people that ordered in their website are already shiped (lucky people).
But I won't get it till I get money.
Tommorow I want to know how many grannies where pushed on the processes on getting the game from stores from everyone. |

If I can pick it up tomorrow on my lunch break from school... I'm going to have to drive pretty fast, since my school is a fair distance away from the mall. I would go after school, but there is a visiting for a friend of mine who recently passed away.
On a lighter note though, the game will be in many-a-hand in not too long. Do you guys think the boards will be slow once the game comes out? I doubt I'll be posting much once I start playing, but you never know. |
