<br>October 21, 2005 (Rockville, MD) -- Bethesda Game Studios announced today that Jeremy Soule, the award-winning composer who has been called “gaming’s greatest musician,” will create the soundtrack for the highly anticipated role-playing game (RPG), The Elder Scrolls® IV: Oblivion™. The score for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® (2002 Game of the Year, 2002 RPG of the Year), also created by Soule, received numerous accolades from industry professionals including “Game Soundtrack of the Year,” “Best Music and Sound Effects,” and “Outstanding Achievement in Original Composition.” A sample piece of music from Oblivion is available for download at <a href="http://www.elderscrolls.com/" target="_blank">www.elderscrolls.com</a>.

Soule has also been twice nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences for his work with The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and also received a BAFTA nomination for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Better late than never I guess.. you'd think with about a month from the so called 'release title' this would already have been started on. I love Morrowinds music so I hope it's just as good if not better. |

I seriously doubt they just got a contract to score the music now cosnidering the money Bethesda's been throwing at this. And Picard must cost more than our famed and favourite original RPG composor.
I think in the E3 Demo they said they worked with he music at the same time for atmosphere in the jail. Not certain omn that though.
I'm wondering how much interest and popularity the gaming industry has to show to get Game Soundtracks to get Grammies. I mean, few movies have inspired original classical music even compared to video games. |

Well, if you wondered whether Oblivion's soundtrack would include anything as memorable as the Morrowind theme, rest assured that it does. The Morrowind theme is exactly as memorable as you remember. |

I liked Morrowinds music alot, just hated the game lol.
Specially the title theme in Morrowind that was genius, I downloaded the tite theme off the offical site for oblivion and i was really disapointed i hope theres some good catchy music in Oblivion. |

The music in MW was great but the game was shit that's true. And there were not enough different single music scores in it so after a while the music was getting on my nerves. Nonetheless Soule did a great job with it and he is certainly one of my favourite game score componists and he comes right after Kairo aka Kai Rosenkranz (ever listened to the credits theme in G2 NOTR then you know what i mean) *slime*   |
