Game crashes when fighting multiple enemys

The screen goes black and it sends me back to desktop, it has a little bar with Gothic on it in the upper right corner. Think I heard some one say it was a sound problem, but I dont know what I would do. Any help is appreciated

I had this problem also. I have a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 sound card and changing the sound provider in the game options from EAX2 to DirectSound HW has fixed the problem. Also, if you post your system specs and OS it makes it easier to troubleshoot your problem. Just for future reference.
