Gothic 2 Addon Release Date for Poland

Our friend Radoslaw spotted a newsbit at CD-Project, telling us that the Gothic 2 addon "Thhe Night of the Raven" will be released there on July 15th.

It would be nice if it will be in English and Polish but I don't think this would ever happen. Well, who knows? ^^;;;

Sometimes CD-Projekt does publish games with both English and Polish versions like Lionheart or Galactic Civilizations, but this time since Gothic II was only polish, I don`t think it will happen. But if there is polish version - probability of English version becomes higher.

So it's not an English version, if I'm correct. Too bad, that would be something if it was an English version.

The English version of the add-on does exist, trust me. it is just that Atari refuses to publish it. Koch Media nad JoWooD are trying to get the right o publish, but the business politics is in the way.

PB did have the English voice recording done back around September 2003. The legal way around this is take the English recordings of voices, combined with a in-house made TEXT patch (hehhe we are making one) then you can sell it as a NEW product together. Call it the "Night of the Ravens" and note I changed the title by one letter 's' Raven to Ravens.

Get the picture? It is a 'NEW' add-on that is 'different' from what Atari will not publish.

Thus we may get the English version, and by the speed it is going, it maybe done later this summer.

It maybe sold as a combined full Raven Gold Edition, a NEW iteration in the series, withe the original Gothic 2 legally. It is a new game.

...this whole scenery reminds me of last may. when after months and months of waiting....rumors of english gothic2 being cancelled and all that, something good started to appear in the horizon.... and if i am not mistaken it was again first published in polish by CD projekt. so maybe we could hope for a summer release.....an early one would be much appreciated... because summer = free time.....

Hopefully Jowood and Koch Media get things going, because it isn't very stimulating for the publishers when there is already an fan-made English version. Especially when every fan will then just buy the German version and use the patch.
