Help! i can't steal!

I need to steal some keys but i dont know how. I tried to killing them but al the guards wil come after me.
Nothing happens when i press lshift (stealth).
Can anyone help me?

I believe that stealth mode is always on, but it's not the point - you need to master pickpocketing. For details search this Arx Fatalis forum for keyword "Pickpocket"

Sometimes I wonder... I mean as soon as you enter Arx the game warns you what you need to steal. Can't people READ? It's still in the log book.

YOu need 40+ Stealth points...
