Problem with 1024x768 32 bit , Plz help ! |
|
At 16bit color mode, Gothic 2 (and many other games too) shows wrong colors for effects (smoke, dust) and movies. The problem is I can only use 32 bit mode with 800x600 resolution. When I switch to 1024x768 or higher, options menu and ini file do say 32 bit but nothing different from 16 bit, still green dust, green smoke, bad movies.
Switch to 800x600 32 bit, then everything is perfect. So, how can I run the game in "true" 32bit at high resolution ?
I'm using
- GeForce 4 MX440
- DX9
- Det 45.23
And sorry for my English |

This is either a driver problem or a defective graphics card. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

You are contradicting yourself. First you say you have this problem in many games, then you´ve never had it before?
If you are sure the graphics card is okay it has to be a driver problem. Go back to DirectX8 and try older drivers.
Or maybe some options in the gothic.ini can help you. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I think you misunderstood. My games show better color in 32b than in 16b (all resolution). It means WHEN I SWITCH TO 32B I GET BETTER QUALITY !
This is also true in Gothic 2 BUT ONLY AT 800x600. AT 1024x768 OR HIGHER THEY'RE ALL THE SAME 'POSTERIZED COLORS'. |

Strange problem.
Still, all you can do is try older drivers and DirectX8. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

First of all, you're talking about smoke and dust...you have an MX card, not good.
I am almost positive its the problem is your videcard. No one should ever buy an MX card unless they have no more PCI slots available. If anything for the older and better GeForce 3 Ti 500 _________________ (-[ApoK Forever]-) |
