Gothic 2: Publisher/Jowood facing problem?

Hi everyone,

If you read Sunday's news on RPGdot here, Jowood is apparently in troubles. Gothic 2 delayed (English version) is still okay for me, but now i'm concerned...With the situation of the publisher, i'm worry about the potential problems affecting the game developer to deliver the game. How worst is the situation in Jowood? Would Gothic 2 get further delay if problems in Jowood not resolved?

We should be able to contact PB ourselves and order our own copies.

Seriously. Why can't we just call PB and ask!?! Like, the English version has been finished for weeks now.

Sorry to tell you, but probably not. They delayed the english release just beacuse they hadn't finished the German game.

They have to translate they intire text bit and do a complete voiceover.
The longer that takes the more problems. faults in the german version come to light and they want to repair those to.

Just be patiant

well, english voice recordings were well under way already, so i dotn see how such a huge delay was neccesary, unless it was because too many americans would have ordered from the UK? (grrr, americans! spoiling my fun again arent ya? )

Well, if they've given German test copies to reviewers, the German version is obviously finished. I'm not sure about the English version, but if it's not done yet it's not because PB are sitting on their asses taking a break... so cool off. Chill out.

Whatever happens to Jowood I doubt a great game, especially one with such a fanbase now, will go unpublished for long.

Actually, the German version isn't released, it has just gone gold.

And how do you know they have delayed it to april? On JoWoods site they still have Q1 2003, wich means sometime between January - March.

Uhm... I'd say it's machine-translated, but...erm... it makes no sense. So what did you want to tell us, Baalcipher?

I think he wishes to express his displeasure at this turn of events.
