i just realised sumthn funny about gothic 2, and i kno its rather irelavent considering thers orcs and dragons but on the paladin ship there are cannons, correct me if im wrong but cannons wernt invented during the time that gothics set lol just thort that was a bit interesting

'cauz it is a fantasy game, anything can happen in such a game...

You're definitely right... afaik cannons were invented during the late 15th or in the 16th century; at least some time after rifles appeared for the first time. And since gun powder was discovered in Europe during the 15th century (in China it was known much earlier), Gothic has to be settled before that.

But then, it's a fantasy game (as Neo_Genesis already mentioned), taking place in a fantasy realm at a time not exactly defined.

Finally, I want to state that I really dislike the presence of gun powder in the game in any form - it disturbs that great medieval spirit...

Interesting thought...

Anyway, I don't like those cannons at all!
The only thing preventing the cannons in GII from being totally annoying is that you can't use 'em.

im aware that it doesnt really matter seeings there is magic dragons monsters etc i just thought it was funny that they were there, it didnt really even click untill mario said hes a crack shot with the cannon n that made me think lol.
