i really enjoyed playing gothic, i loved the third person view, the freedom and the controls. my only problem was that i enjoy playing multi-player games. are there any online capable games that play similar to gothic. (i saw DAoC, is that like an online gothic?) |

Others may have a different opinion (remember, opinions are like anal orifices - everybody has one), but I don't think ANY game plays like Gothic. But to be fair, it does depend upon what you REALLY liked about Gothic.
Insofar as online games like DaOC go (Everquest, AC, etc.), they do not provide the same feel nor the same gameplay of Gothic - but you may like them. They are all about killing and advancing your character to get more "stuff". If that twinks your fancy - go for it. The primary problem I have with MMORGs is that you garner ALL the bad features of large groups of people with none of the good (if there are any) - these games show the bad sides of people in the worst light.

Umm, i don't think Gothic 2 will have a multiplayer ability like MMORGs... that would be way to advanced. The would have to work for years and years to make it both a good singeplayer and a massiv-multiplayer game.... but multiplayer would be cool |

I think that a multiplayer option could be good, if it was developed for small groups of four to eight. That way you can decide who you play with and such. If it was like Evercrack it would get crazy. |

Yes, it would be cool with a few players, to play over LAN and such. |

My opinion can be summed up in two words: single player. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Yes, Gothic is a singel player game... but, it would be realy cool to play co-operative with a friend or two over LAN! |

I prefer a strong single player versus a weakened single player and multiplayer. I think RPGs often work better with either concentrating on single player or multiplayer at the expense of another...ones which try to be good in both often turn out with one mode being far better than the other. There can be good multiplayer RPGs, such as NWN and Diablo 2. And there can be excellent single player RPGs such as Baldur's Gate 2, Icewind Dale, Morrowind (I hope, just got it yesterday), etc. BG2 and IWD don't have the most robust multiplayer capabilities, I'd say... Seems to crash quite a bit when I play on the net or hang a lot, even though my connection is fine. _________________ Give me the shadows, shield me from the light, and I shall let nothing pass in the darkness of the night. |

in general, gothic should be single player, but, seriously, the option of having a single friend from work or something discovering this awesome dungeon and not you alone is great. I dont want another everquest, just a friend to watch my back. Maybe they could do multiplayer like dungeon siege. You can continually advance (of course you need more skills) and you can play through the single player or a new multiplayer game. The mutliplayer is of course less... involved. Just more to do. But i really wish you could spend more time as a lower rank in gothic, like spend a few chapters as a shadow... and become like dexter, and help an npc into the old camp..... That would be cool....... _________________ Moo. Just do it, purse your lips and let out a MIGHTY MOO!
