I agree, ToEE is more satisfying and/or challenging than the OCs and most player modules too. Personally, I enjoy the micromanaging offered in ToEE [and any other DnD party based crpg for that matter], but I would think NWN is more like PnP. Don't most PnPs' only have direct control over one character?

Pen and paper is definitely about micro-management to an extent. Yes you typically control one character... but it's your only character. There are no reloads if your party gets destroyed... so you get one shot at every battle.
