Dungeon Lords: Official English 1.4 Patch @ 3D Gamers

3D Gamers has the official English language version of the 1.4 patch. This is the same patch that came out for German language versions in November. You can read about it and download it at 3D Gamers.

It's also available from a few other authorized sources.
See the official post here: Now Available Dungeon Lords 1.4 Update

I found WorthPlaying to be a little slow but at least there was no wait.

You will also need to install the v1.3 patch first to get v1.4 to install. Check this thread for issues installing and from having installed the patch:
v1.4 update English is OFFICIALLY released!

I agree with Corwin. DL is over...so over. I uninstalled it after the disappointment that was the 1.3 patch. No furniture, NPCs, music, or customization and I was officially done with it.

I went back to playing Daggerfall and Arena in DOSbox.

Shockingly, they run better then Dungeon Lords...even in an emulator, no less.

heh.

I haven't played yet, I am thinking about trading in the regular edition(unopened) and picking up the collectors edition. Hopefully it will be "acceptable", I'm certainly not expecting a masterpiece like some of DW's previous work he has had a hand in.

As I mentioned in my review at GamerDad and have discussed with Dhruin amongst others, one of the biggest problems is that once you get past the outrage over the unfinnished first release and all of the annoyances and problems, you realize that even with filled in towns, working furniture and options, and even a couple of actual side-quests, this game would never be more than average - perhaps a 4/5 effort if it were 'perfect'.

Who ever thought it would or even should be absolutely perfect?

I would have been happy with a 4/5, like you said. Very happy.

Reading the previews and press and DW Bradley's rep, you'd expect something pretty darn good.

Before DL's release, Bradley had the following reputation with me: He does big design well. He chooses an intriguing selection of skills and attributes for his games, and knows exactly how to balance his rat people against his elephant men. But when it comes to the details, the little decisions that determine what you'll actually do from moment to moment as you play, he doesn't have a clue. And all I took from DL's previews was that the game was still too God damned dark. Then I played the demo, and... I can't imagine the thought process that would lead me to purchase the game after that. Seriously, what went through your heads?

Suspension of disbelief ... trusting that the game would still live up to the previews, that the stuff the devs were saying were actually true ... that the game could really be like JKII meets Gothic meets Blade of Darkness ...
