Yes, JoWooD already said so back in April - the 2006 release date was known for quite some time now. The info was covered in our news back then, and there have been discussions on the forums about it.

its odd, thou this info is making rounds on many game news sites atm as new news.
i seem to recall even recently jowood was expecting a late q4 for german release and about 3 months after the english release would follow.

Yes, 2006 is what I've always known as the release year for G3.
I don't mind. Take your time Piranhas! Make it as good as you possibly can

Well. It DID change. First the release date for the german version was JANUARY 2006 and not just 2006, so they did postdone the release again.

Yes, I think I´ve said something like that.
It looks like Oblivion will be released on both platforms before Christmas. If JoWooD are clever they´ll delay G3 until Q2.

Thats a very good idea, maybe even brilliant on many levels
Even if G3 made it out by Q4 they would loose out on very much of the sales potiental going head to head with Oblivian.
Not cause Oblivian is better (thou in a purly selfish level, one more great RPG ummmm ) but due to the poor way jowood has handled the Gothic series to date many uninformed buyers would pick Oblivian due to the name recognition.
If they could catch up the english release to the german release, then jowood would only have to focus on one ad campain blitz, cut down on potiental piracy, have much more command of the gaming media and shopping dollars.
Just to name a few. |

Yer I think PB shouldn't even try to finish gothic3 early, they should finish it by april/may--->this way they'll have time to add even more quests, graphical effects and maybe even a few little island with 10-15 inhabitants  |

Yes, I think I´ve said something like that.
January is the worst month to release games, right after all the holidays, etc. So it was pretty obvious it would change. I'm just hoping that it won't turn into 2007 in 6 months.

Word from the GC is that PB thinks they´re confident to finish the game in Q1.

I would say 12 march 2006 for the German release and the English one (unless they do a Gothic 2 or even worse a NotR on us) at 13 june 2006. I just have a feeling that they won't delay it to much this time, so I hope this timetable will be the one.
