I dont know about you guys but music is a HUGE part of my life, i absolutely love it .
So, what kind of music are you guys into it?

Me personally, im a huge doom metal fan, its pretty much all i listen to.
However, if you guys like death metal at all mixed with opera/orchestra. Id recomend a band called Rhapsody. Real good music, these guys are fantasy obsessed, After listening to alot of their songs it makes me want to go and play Gothic, one song in particular, called 'Emerald Sword', just reminds me of gothic so much for some reason. Im weird though

I'm still a few year behind the times when it come to music, I love the alternative/grunge rock of the early nineties. Most all of the bands I hear on the radio the last few years seem to have very little to say. The obvious exception being Staind. As much as I hate to admit it if I saw them live I'd probably be one of those people with tears running down there cheeks.
P.S. I'm, a big three hundred pound Texan, so if it can bring tears to my eyes thats really saying something.

If you like Therion and Rhapsody, you ought to like Luca Turilli's solo stuff as well... you might also check out Tristania and perhaps Samael. And Emperor. And Ayreon, of course!!!

In addition to those mentioned above I like Laibach, Subway to Sally, In Extremo (at least the older stuff), Rammstein, about everything going under the 'classical' handle, Black music, Dance, Techno... in short, everything.

yeah, my buddy told me to check out lucca's solo stuff so ill have to download some of it
Samael and emperoer als rock . Ive never heard any of tristiana's stuff so i cant really say.
As far as other types of music, i can tolerate anything that involves some sort of instrument. I really just cant listen to dance, techno, and rap, i really REALLY hate rap, i have a hard time even trying to classify it as music, i odnt understand how people can like it. Id rather listen to country than rap.

But thats just me..
Btw, anyone in here morgion fans at all? i met gray griffith online in the doom metal channel on IRC dalnet, he sent me both their solinari cd and among majestic ruin for free

Cockroach..i think its good to listen to alot of the older stuff as well, i may have havy taste in music but i still like alot of the older groups that have been aorund for a long time (U2, pink floyd, deep purple, iron butterfly, etc.) the 80's and the 90's were a good time for rock n roll

I listen to just about everything, but haven't bought a CD in years. Recent favorites include Linkin Park, Nickleback, the Offspring... but my music list has mostly oldies on it, especially Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, and Black Sabbath.

Classically I like Opera... doesn't matter what, really, as long as the vocals are clear and the music strong. Although it's a musical and not an opera, I like most of the tracks from Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The 1812 overture, Mars -- Bringer of War, O Fortuna, In the Hall of the Mountain King... that kind of 'heavy' classical is my favorite. I like Grieg in particular.

Well my new favorite is a CD i picked up last night after listening to some mp3's of their stuff... MushroomHead... they kinda sound like Rammstein meets Mudvayne meets Slipknot. Other favorites include Mudvayne, Sevendust, Rammstien, Slayer, Kittie, Static-X, Tool and Pantera. And on the non metal side... Nelly Furtado, Daft Punk, Radiohead, Squirrel Nut Zippers, No Doubt, Queen, Primus, AC/DC, and Gorillaz.

While my CD collection quantity wise is mainly metal my musical tastes are quite a bit varied. I may go from Slayer to Daft Punk to Revrend Horton Heat in one sitting...lol

EverythingXen, if you like the 'heavier' opera stuff, and like metal at all, id whoreheartedly recommend checking out therion, you'd probably really like them, they mix the best elements of both (they even have remakes of some songs, including O Fortuna)

you know what a sign of good music is? one thats able to span 2 different generations and appeal to both of them.
You cant argue with the oldies
