From a CRPG it would be Iolo from the Ultima series. I am not quite sure why, but he has stuck me for years as a fav.

From PnP well, I haven't the time to go into it but Illiar. He was a shape changer (wolf) healer who specialized in unarmed combat and rock throwing. Great character for keeping the plot moving!

My Favs are Imoen, Kivan, Shar-Teel and Dynaheir from the BG-Series, Vincent and Aeris from FF 7 and last but certainly not least Annah, Vhailor, Grace and Nordom from Torment.

All (somewhat) tragic Charas, but happy People have no Storys ...

Dogmeat, Sulik, HK-47. But like others said, PS:T cast was stellar. Other KOTOR NPCs come very close.

When it comes to BG2 NPCs, I generally wanted to punch them in the face to shut up already. :/ Except the thief guy, I liked his: "be doubly extra careful" lines.

Paladin Tandor from Gothic 2. He is gentle and tolerant. I like the way, how he is talking about the dragon hunters!

Oh, I nearly forgot it: and because he is so extremely good looking
