Is there something wrong with my NotR?

I've read here (or somewhere) that NotR had some 'rule' changes, like needing a lot more LP than before and all the spell scrolls costing like only 5 GP (says so in the new game docs, but I'm not seeing this in the game). Is something messed up, because I'm not experiencing any of that? And I sure *do* think that NotR is installed correctly: Boars are really tough and I definitely don't remember a Pirate from G2. Some other subtle changes, some extra quests, sparkles around potions and scrolls found in the woods, etc.... Does this sound right? Thanks.

The changes you will notice immediately is that things are MUCH harder. The spell scrolls only use a small amount of mana(unless they are charge scrolls), but the runes use a ton of mana now.

It sounds like you are playing NOTR and your game is working as it should.

The scrolls cost 5 sp (mana), not 5 gp. The LP cost goes up by 1 for every 30%.

Yup, it's working like it should, and you'll come to the add-on world called Jhakandaar after some time.

Regarding learning points. As Drake said, they go up every 30%, so here's the cost:
1-30 - 1LP per skillpoint
31-60 - 2LP
61-90 - 3LP
91-120 - 4LP
121 and up - 5LP

So how can you get a lot of skills you say? There are new stone tablets in the add-on, which give quite a nice bonus when you read them(you need to learn how to read them as a skill), so if you just wait with all stone tablets/permanent skill potions(mana, strength etc) till you have about 60 to 90 in the desired skill, you can boost your skill by 20-30 fairly fast, getting over 100 in no time.

I know you didn't ask for any tips or spoils, but I give this tip to everyone anyway, because it's so vital if you want to succeed near the end of the game(suffice to say, Orc Elites, Dragons etc are MUCH harder).

Good luck, the add-on makes the game a whole lot better.
