Mt Gigas Caves- Auto Security Machine- Different Problem

Hello All-

AfterI place my fake top-level pass on the glass panel, it tells me its not functioning (as it should). When I go to the back to fix it, I find that I can't remove the panel to fix the wires.

Note that I can't get a Level3 pass because I had to kill all the Umpani because I aligned with the T'Rang and blah blah blah.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,

-iccohen

Does the fake Top Sec'y Pass that Kunar drops work there?
Otherwise, no training for naughty Ump-killers. (besides, you have to deal with the Sgt, anyway...

edit: In my last few finishes, i didn't even go into Mt. Gigas at all. I went to Sea Caves via Beyjin.

No, it doesn't. All I have is the 2nd Level Pass and the Fake Security Pass, and neither work.

If I can't go anywhere further aorund the caves, at least I can get points and gold by selling their stuff...

That script (where the back panel blows open) may only fire when you present the level 3 pass. I would think Balbrak would have dropped that when you killed him, though.

My memory is a little fuzzy, but don't the different training areas have card readers at their doors? I know the security panel opens some areas, but perhaps the high-security card you have would open those doors directly. If my memory is off and those doors don't have readers, I'd say you're SOL. The only bad thing about that I can think of is that you won't be able to get a Djinn eye for the Ebon Staff. Other than that, you should only miss out on a small amount of the caves (just 1 training zone) that holds little treasure and little XP.

Balbrak opens the doors.

edit: Or whatever that Training NCO is called...not the recruiter. (I'm not very good with names)

Balbrak's the recruiter. The trainer is Rubble (I think). I'm not much better with names.

So there's no readers at the "grab the flags" area and the entrance to UTU, huh.

one time i went to the Gigas water tunnels backwards and the doors look the same from that side closed as from the other. In either case, you can't interact with the switches.

Who. Umpani or Trang are "easier" to wipe out? I'm doing the Slugs this time. A BlunderBuss Yard Sale? LOL

With a strong missle shield, I'd say there's not too much difference. Without the missle shield, I think those blunderbusses might get a little painful. The Trang are a little better in melee (IMO), but lack such a strong ranged attack. There are more Umpani, simply because their base is bigger, but I'd say that would just mean additional slaughter, not necessarily additional challenge.

Another difference is the T'rang have lots of magic. Other options include not killing any of them or killing all of them. You can win any way.
