Minions of Mirth: Updated Download @ Gamershell

An updated download for Minions of Mirth is available from Gamershell.com. The game, self-described as a "massively single player, multiplayer, persistent world RPG" is set to go gold in December so give it a try now! You can download Minions of Mirth at Gamershell.com.

No need to re download

No need to re-download the entire client again.

You can run any version of Minions of Mirth including the demo and on the main menu page click the "Live Update" button and the client will be upgraded to the latest version.

It is truly amazing how simple and user friendly this method is for an independent game still in development.

Quite a few large, already-published games still have archaic, confusing and broken patcing utilities.

Yep, this is true. I had uninstalled the game earlier so, when I saw that it was a new version, I posted it, forgetting about the 'update' option.

I occasionally try the demo since it was first announced, and tried it after the update. It's pretty "retro" and I have to admit that I still fail to see much fun in the game. Nevertheless, the concept is interesting (being able to host your own server) - but everything concerning graphics is just so basic - animation, landscape, buildings. I just don't fall in love.

Which version of the Demo? I'm a beta tester and I'm impressed with some of the graphics considering this is basically a 2 person operation. Things are being updated several times a day right now. Sure it's not Oblivion, but it only has a tiny fragment of their budget and/or staff/resources. It's quite fun to play once you get going. I have a MAJOR interview coming VERY soon with the developer, so check that out as soon as Dhruin posts it.
