The Thief series is my favorite game series ever (so far).
By the way, they may not be RPGs but they made the internal top games list here . _________________ Jaz |

Magnificent games, especially the second one. Not RPGs, but in many ways they feel like they are. Some of the best gaming hours I've ever spent. |

The Thief games are very good! I remember playing the first game with my friend some years ago, the prison level in Thief 1 was realyl scary! |

I adored Thief 1 demo (basically full first level). I ran out and bought the game. Loaded it, played through level 1 with my eyes closed. Started the second level. When the first skeleton popped out of the ground, I thought someone made a mistake and that this was a fluke. Or an easter egg or something. When the second skeleton popped out of the ground, I quit, uninstalled and never touched it again. _________________ (@) |

I understand what you're saying Moon, same thing happened when I first got Thief, I really HATED the second level, and I uninstalled it too, but I end up comming back to it a month or two later and played almost all the way through it. _________________ --

Thief is one of my favorite games. It is the only game to do first person sneaking right. Try it well in Deus Ex or NOLF after playing a while in Thief and you will know what I mean. You usually end up shooting people. And the atmosphere was so well done, the whole Middle Ages meets Turn of the Century fit perfectly. If I could do a first person role playing game, I'd model the thief character... on Thief.
I can't wait for Thief 3. Before Looking Glass closed up, they were going to do it as a fully open city. You could wander around the city at night picking up jobs as you go. You would break in anywhere a steal things. The story would be given out as you went through the city. Too bad they closed up. I believe 3 will now be more level based again.

MoonDragon, LG found out that people hated the monster-bashing levels (surprise surprise), so they fixed it in Thief II: Metal Age. Which is why TII:MA is better than TI. _________________ Jaz |

Hmm, maybe I'll have to look at thief II. _________________ --
