I think Gothic is released 'as is'... which means that since they patched the German version for what... almost a year? More? before translating it to english they figured they got most of the bugs out (they missed a few. ) and they're not going to patch the english version.

The last patch for the German version (1.08h) came out in june, the Kyro fix (1.08i) came soon afterwards.
The German version was relatively bugfree after that, talking about technical bugs.

The AI bugs and the jammed winches are unfortunately random and therefore hard to fix. The exception is Gorn in the new mine.

IMO a patch for either version would come as a surprize.

Another Gothic game is in production. No infos are known about engine, release date, etc. .

I think he was refering to an add-on extension to the game. You know, much like the Baldur's Gate series has add-ons.
Gothic itself is fun to play, and can be played different ways so if they added a fourth or even fifth camp with different choice to make, well, you get the idea.

After I fighted several times with jammed winch, I download patch. I have english version and I aplied patch without thinking.
German patch for 1.08i on english 1.08j Gothic is not good combination. Game not functional, savegames lost

Good recommendation - think before you do something
