I see lots of round things that might be eyes, but where is the mouth 
Cool pic. I think the beholder is the 3 dimensional projection of Yog Sothoth. Very good
PS - looks a lot like something my wife examines under a microscope in her bio lab - those little guys are SCARY!

well i choose the beholder because i want to play the bad boy!!! MWAHAHAHWAHAHHAH....hahhah...heheheh...he ok ok i choosed it because i like it and stop.
But i thought about useing the real "Yog" image... well it is not so good after you resize it to 90x90... 
and those are not molecules!!! Those bubble rappresent the ALL that are in ONE person!!! it was so obvious!

Hmm. To add to this little conversation, i must remind you all that Lovecraft wrote excellent fiction, and rumor has it Lovecraft wrote a stupid sorcery book called the Necronomicon, which is also total fiction, although some foolish mortals claim that its not, and got this stuff from a piece of crap named Aleister Crowley (who thought he was a god, but actually was a sick homosexual drug-sex-addict ---hole), who in turn stole this stuff from some dude named John Dee (who happened to make up an angelic language, btw, which was total fiction), who in turn bastardized it from ancient Assyrian mythology. Every one of these guys added all sorts of nice fictitious stuff to this archana. Its all fiction, and Lovecraft knew it, unless [b]Lovecraft is trapped on a raft somewhere floating on the Sea of Absu, begging for his life surrounded by diabolical amphibious fish-people[/b], woohoo! i just scared myself ---less, lol, j/k. But the game coming out based on this is cool looking.
EDIT -- anyway, it has basically been traced back to real esoteric mythology of the ancient Assyrians, who worshipped Marduk and all that jazz. The Assyrians were a war-mongering nation who sacrificed humans (usually persons captured or enslaved in their wars) to their gods, were extremely advanced when it comes to certain things, but were all-around pretty stupid ignorant ancient people, whose sectarian priests were actually paid to be big myth-spouting jerks, ect. It should also be noted that Lovecraft was a disturbed individual, and if Lovecraft didnt hear strange voices and/or experienced hallucinations, whether natural or drug-induced, i would be surprised. But in any case Lovecraft was a freakin genius who happened to gather a lot of creepy esoteric data together and presented it in a unique, scary, creepy way. I wouldnt really be surprised if a bunch of corpses were discovered in his locker at high school. Corpses of amphibious underworld creatures. LOL. |

I discovered HP Lovecraft a few years ago, and was blown away by his short, but engrossing tales of science fiction and the macabre, and of course the Cthulu mythos. A good small paperback compilation of Lovecraft that kinda covers all bases, and also has a good biography and timeline in it is "The Doom That Came to Sarnath.. and other stories". Just the cover of the book gives you a good preview of the content within.
I used to read whole sections of tales aloud to my girlfriend, his prose and grasp of the english language is remarkable. To hear it read aloud is awesome, its almost hard to do at first until you get the flow right.

You guys that like Lovecraft should read the Gormenghast trilogy. It's become my favorite work of gothic literature ever. Nobody can hold a candle to Mervyn Peake's prose. Not even Lovecraft, though Lovecraft IS one of my favorite authors.
