Is there a Arx Fatalis 2 on the way?

If so are there any details on it yet?

Or even better is there any art or screen shots?

Funny you should ask. Yes there is to be an Arx 2, but there's not a great deal known other than it will be based several years before the events of Arx 1 while the people are still living above ground. Adam, the Arx moderator from the JoWood boards and I were just discussing this very thing today on ICQ. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.

Well I still have about 50 hours of Arx 1 but I'm just so curious how it will look. Arx 1 looks damn good but as we all know the new generation of games look just amazing (Doom3, Half-Life2, EverQuest 2, Stalker). I'm very curious if they plan to go the same direction. Nothing would be better than those updated graphics with the amazing sound of Arx 1 wile running around in a dungeon.

Hi

There are rumours that we may visit above ground, but nothing completely official yet. Just hang on.

Thanks,
Adam

BSC14, you should find the Arx II wish list thread here in forum. After you finish, add your thoughts. If the guys making the game read any of our stuff, that will be a central place they could look.

Spoke to Julien today.

He told me to say Hi to you all from him.

You will get Arx 2, don't worry.*

*Just incase people get confused, he didn't say that last sentence, that's a generalization of the conversation. I can't tell you what he said, basically, but that's that.

"Is he the lead dev or something?"
Julien is a developer and designer of Arx, the lead designer is Raphael Colantonio - both remarkably nice persons really!

Look at our Game Info for Arx 2 (http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsaction=10075&games=772), there's several interviews and reports about Arx 2, however, Arkane has no publishing deal for Arx 2 so far - I have seen a few small screenshots from Arx 2 already, looks even nicer than Arx 1...keep your fingers crossed Arkane will get a great deal!!!

I see. Well thanks anyway. How well did the first one do anyway? Did they profit much? Do you know?

I think not even Arkane know the exact figures...Also, it wasn't really successfull, afaik. First JoWood blew the release in Germany when releasing the game buggy and along with Morrowinf, NWN, Dungeon Siege...then, it delayed the release in the UK & US for a very long time...
But I have no clue about any figures really
