Blah. American no doubt, plus shipping and handling. No, I think I can find it in a bargain bin up here for 10 or so.

I agree with the people saying they like being low-level in most RPG games.

I really like starting out as a nobody(like in Gothic), where I have to respect/fear everybody, and I try to suck up to them as much as possible. I also like to see my character develop into a hero, but I don't like the end of the game where you're some Orcish myth of great power defeting a God!
The goal should've been breaking out of the barrier with either one of the Camps, without becoming a one man army.

Baldur's Gate 3 just sounds like a bad idea. Sure, you have brand identity, but without the same character, it will not carry over well. I suspect that NWN is the beginning of a new BG-like franchise (duh). If they made another BG game, where would it go?

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode. I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

I wouldn't be surprised if IWD2 (and its inevitable multiple expansion packs if it's like the first one) is the last Infinity engine game. They can get some more mileage out of it with a graphics upgrade, of course... but I doubt they will.

I agree here. I've been following BIS for a while now and I doubt they are working on anything involving the Infinity Engine at the moment.

They have currenlty 4 projects going, besides Icewind Dale II, which are:

- Lionheart, an external project, produced by Chris Parker (BIS).
- Codename 'Jefferson' with Lead Designer Josh Sawyer.
- Codename 'Jackson' with Lead Designer Dave Maldonado.
- Another external project of which I forgot the codename.

All of them are RPGs. It's unclear if 'Jackson' or the external one is Fallout 3. 'Jefferson' is apparently not Fallout 3, eventhough it could go either way with the statements BIS is making.

Feargus Urquhart (president of BIS) also mentioned that they are thinking of doing a sequel to Planescape

A sequel to Planescape would be a Very Good Thing indeed if they can deliver on the same depth of story and importance of attributes that the first one demanded.

Mmmm...Fallout 3...

Just thinking about Fallout 3 in full 3d makes me salivate...(salivates). And Lionheart sounds great too. But there's no future in waiting for BG3.

If I remember correctly Planescape is no longer a WotC product. Does that mean it is now Open Source under d20 or do use still need to purchase the licensing rights from WotC?

BIS can still make D&D games with their current license AFIK. That would probably also include another Planescape game. The question is whether they want to make more D&D games or try something else? Personally I don’t think any of the codename projects are D&D related but we’ll have to wait and see.
