Hi being a fan of the Gothic series I have often wondered what it would take to convert the Gothic 1 game to the Gothic 2 engine?
Or would/could it be easier to make a mod for Gothic 2 being the full game of Gothic 1?
Anyone ideas what this would take or if it is possible?
I am only guessing but it seems that the conversion wouldnt be as difficult as making a whole game, since they both use same textures and models.
Also if I inderstand correctly the Gothic 2 engine is an enhanced version of Gothic 1 engine, so possibly very compatable
Would anyone else like to see Gothic 1 upgraded ? |

Conversion most likely is not possible as there are differences, however, if someone would make it as a mod, then yeah. Just that it has to be someone who actually would do all that work _________________ Been there, done that . . . |

PB could do it as a hobby, but I doubt they have any time for that when working on G3.. I don't want them to sleep, eat or drink, JUST MAKE THE GAME! |

In actual fact Acleacius,
Gothic and G2 use the same engine, it's the command set that is different.
