We pride ourselves to be the first on quite some news - but we do it silently

Actually, the first to have the press release was Gamasutra, but we seem to have been first on the reason why that was mentioned in the webcast.

Update: More than a day after the press release by T2 and still no official reaction from Bethesda.

I can't say that I am amused by how they handle this.

One of the games chains here changed the release date yesterday from November 25th to January 27th, another even removed it from their "release dates" list that runs till March 31st . Guess that makes it pretty official, at least to them

Cant understand the reason for such a long delay for a response either, after Take2's announcement any effect on Zenimax stock that would be caused by the news would already have happened, so i cant think its because Beth are waiting for them to announce the news to their shareholders. I would say they either have a serious problem with the game that they are currently unsure about a "fix" timeframe, or they are shortly about to announce its gone gold. Otherwise it simply appears to be awful PR.

EDIT: my bad - Zenimax is a private company and doesnt have stock...

Quite jarring to see it listed on an online retailer's release countdown, in beg red numbers, as "24 Days Till Release". Only for it to plummet to "142 Days Till Release" (24th of March '06 for the UK according to the website).
They cut it a bit fine for telling people it was slipping that far didn't they?

Last minute delays aren't that uncommon, you know. Even developers have something we call "hope"

For now, we can only speculate. But I agree: silence isn't really the best thing now, PR-wise, so either they have reasons or they don't know their business.

Good news imho

Call me crazy, but this delay gives me hope.
I'm ready to wait till 2010 if that means getting a game close to what I expect to be (that is a worthy heir of Ultima).
I often wake up in the morning dreaming UIX still has to be released...
(on second thought...did I say 2010? I mean 2007
