Ok, When I load the game, the cutscene plays fine, but then everything goes black. I tried turning and discovered that I could see the sky from certain angles and when I went under water I got a nice underwater effect but there still wernt any textures. It seems to me that for some reason all the textures in the game are coming up black.
Im running on an Athlon 700 256 megs ram Voodoo 5. and all the latest drivers for everything (unless they are less thana month old)
I had assumed it was a video card problem, the voodoo 5 sometimes not liking games, but then I read a post on here about someone using hte Voodoo. Now im realy stumpped. I also looked for the patch on the Xicat website, but couldnt find it under gothic or under support.
any help? |

Most likely a driver issue. Search the forum.
The patch is only for Radeon and GeForce3 users. |

Make sure you have the latest whql voodoo 5 drivers. BTW, what OS are you running?
You can get the patch from here:

Hope this helps

The Voodoo5 is, generally speaking, compatible to Gothic. I have no graphics problems under Win98 with 2xFSAA enabled. |

From another post:
I´m using DirectX 8.0a plus an inofficial driver from x3dfx I found on voodoofiles.com. The unpacked file: x3dfx_V5_Win9X_1.08.04.exe date: 11/19/2001 size: 9.264.560 bytes.
Remember, this is a Win9x driver! There should be an equivalent XP driver. |
